Did you just cross paths or did it come by to pay a visit?

Luke AFB in Phoenix was the training base for F16s for a long time and it was not uncommon to see them (after hearing them first, of course) streaking around the perimeter of the city. Always an awesome sight.

I remember when I was in 6th grade, I was hiking down at the Mt. Rogers with the Boy Scouts. We were walking on a path that was on the side of a mountain and in the valley to our left I saw a fourship of F-15's BELOW ME. They were practicing nap-of the-earth in the mountains.
That was the coolest aircraft related thing I've ever seen. I've never stood on the ground and looked down at an aircraft before or since.

I once had a pair of f-16s shoot flares at me. That was wild.

Those takeoff over my work building and fly over my house several times a day. I have got so used to them that I don't even notice anyone. My 10 year-old self would be disappointed.

Just one F-16? Don't worry, Chappy is there with you in spirit.
This one's for you Chappy.

Actually there were 3 of them, but I could only spot one.

Having grown up in a military family and living at or around bases, I sometimes take spots like this for granted.
I shouldn't... fighter jets are insane, no matter what.

When I was in cadets in high school I was out on the top of some cliff outside of Lithgow (Australia) setting up a signals repeater station, when two F 18s screamed past me.
Damn close to the ground, I could see the pilot's in the second jet waving to me.
Absolutely unforgettable.
